I've heard this mentioned before, but I couldnt find an answer.
When I put blue LEDs in my MFD and Dials, the left hand bulb in the centre console stopped working. Obviously I have loads of standars yellow LEDs about, so If i just swap it, will it work ok or keep blowing?
It just looks daft at night with only half of the console lit up

i replaced the bulbs in my centre console & not 1 week after, the centre bulb lew 
what a complete arse-ache it was too stripping it out i tell ye!
not too sure how the LED's would go, but I know they do fook all light in the centre console!

lol ok, i heard it was a ballache trying to undo all the wiring but my wonky discos pissing me off.

I had a N reg 1.2 with all the bulbs OK and never replaced.
And then a V reg sport with one out keep meaning to have a go at sorting it.
Typical vaux pain in the ar5e job

Ahh good
So, if I swap it, will it just blow again or is it just the initial change to blue bulbs that does it?

Ok, i took the Centre Console out, couldn't find the bulbs at all, but I managed to break my centre knob i think
I took it off by wedging it out with a screwdriver, it flew across the car and when I came to putting it back on again, it goes on alright, but when I try and pull it out to turn on rear demisters, it pulls off in my hand !!!
Have I bust it or have just put it on wrong?

you've probably bust it by yanking too hard.
the gay thing now is that if you want a replacement centre knob from vauxhall, you're going to have to buy the whole part which includes the part behind the knob 
or you could visit a scrap yard and get one from there.
