my Type RF amplifier:

700 W x 1 @ 4 Ohms RMS
1100 W x 1 @ 2 Ohms RMS

should i power 2 x SWR 1041D (DVC 4ohms x 2) giving 2ohm load on amp
or
should i power 2 x SWR 1021D (DVC 2ohms x 2) giving 4ohm load on amp

[both are 300 watts RMS n 1000 peak]

i think it should be 4ohm, as ill have the gains turned down just a lil. Or should igo for the 2ohm DVC subs and have gain down more...?

thought i'd check with the pro's as i seem to blow up everything when left on my own

cheerz AGAIN guru's

4 ohms mate but thats if the amp does actually push out 700wRMS (or near to it etc)...might be worth getting it tested etc if your want it to be accurate

although im sure each sub could easierly handle 350wRMS, so as long as it doesnt distort much, you could probably leave the gains...or just turn them down a slight tad etc

weee-eeell,
those were the figures off of rockford website

mines the X6

so i'd be better off running 2 DVC 4ohm subs cause i couldnt have the gain's up loud anyway if i had 2ohm one, cause they'd pop?

make anysense...? does in my head

fair enough lad, rocky stuff always seems to offer what they say

but yea basically, i cant see the subs handling 550wRMS some how although if you had the gains down enough, then it would offer the best over-head in limiting distortion - hence why people say an amp that is rated an extra 100wRMS that the speakers is always good, as you can lower the gains to increase the headroom before the amp distorts etc etc

but yea, get the 4ohm subs...unless you can afford other subs that can handle abit more juice (like 400wRMS rated subs etc)?
