Someone i know (me) bought an MR2 before Xmas and hes only just noticed its tax ran out dec 04 as he never drives it

Are the DVLA gonna want to fine him me £1000000 ?

yeah you have to declare the car off road or you will get fined

you'll get an £80 fine, or its cut to £40 if you tax it straight away, i think

I taxed the gsi after bout a month of owning it... but had jus bought it and was previously off-road and didnt get charged fine at all...

you have 30 days from the date tax ran out then DVLA will issue standard £80 fine...

told me on the phone...........

if you take you mot, v5, and insurance down to post office-- tax it youll be fine.

If you wanted to tax your car as normal, I thought you only needed your insurance certificate and V5?
