the best place to get the conversion done (ive heard lee mitchell and cossvaux are good)
rough cost that ppl have paid to get theres done and what sort of insurance cost they pay? (im 19 with almost 3yrs no claims)
what parts r needed to complete the conversion (mounting kit, loom etc)
what bhp the standard engine (runs ive heard its 143bhp for the calibra engine)

If you already know that this is "another 2ltr post" then you must have seen the hundreds already on CS.
Search for your answers.

break down:
500 engine. can get this cheaper, even pick up a whole donor car for less maybe
500 fitting kit. if you get a proper m-tech or cossvaux one. there are cheaper methods that are slightly more hassle
500 labour. if lee does it. cossvaux will be lots more. do it yourself for nowt.
worthwhile getting the engine first so you can clean it up a bit, and replace a few gaskets. worth doing cambelt kit and water pump too perhaps.
search is gooood.

yeah but i was looking for my specific questions to be answered, and if u do a search it comes up with every post with the phrase c20xe in it which as u'll agree there are a hell of alot of posts concerning these engines. i went thru 80 pages yesterday trying to list down the parts needed but wasnt sure in the end so i thought id ask as it would be quicker.
my aim is to source all the parts over a few months and then do the conversion over about a week or so. which is why id like a 'shopping list' of parts. Not sarcastic replies!

yer well maybe there should be a specific 2ltr section to the forum!!! i take it by ur answer u never asked for any help fitting your 2.0 engine then, and i wonder how un helpful other members were to u??? i dont come on here to be slaged off for asking questions!!!
--------------------------------------------------------
Thank you Myke for your helpful comments, is there anything else i need like engine bay wiring loom fuse boxes etc???

You mean people asking questions about engines rather than gay bodykits?

If people post a list of the parts you need, you get someone else posting an alternative list saying the previous list was wrong and you can get alternative parts cheaper, etc.
Find someone that will do the conversion for you. Ask them to give you a list of all the correct parts to buy. Pay them to fit.

But if we don't rip into people by making fun of the CS search, we'll never be able to pressure Ian into re-writing it

right il help after all
im 19 with 0 ncb and would pay 1150 tpft or 1600 fc with adrian flux, but as i was in oz for 6 months im classes as non citizen so they wudnt touch me!
I pay £500 under my dad with tesco at the moment.
They are fast, not silly fast but the power is useable shall we say, always gives you a grin on your face but you soon get used to power and the delivery.
Id say save the hassle and take the car to lee mitchell, £1500 drive in drive out
also upgrade the brakes, fit a good exhaust and air filter and perhaps a chip for now. 2k and you have engine, brakes and exhaust.
Depending on what suspension set up uoi have get some shocks and springs that are matched as a minimum coilovers at a maximum.
Hope that helps anything else just ask!
Also as with all cars you buy there could be problems, get the waterpump, cambelt, tensioners and a good service done on the engine by lee before the engine goes in, along with painting and chroming etc this way you are eliminating any future problems with those parts!
