an actuator essentially replaces the manual mechanism that pushes down the metal bar that opens the catch that holds the boot shut.

ah i c, thing is i got a new boot with the spoiler and flush pannel, and i am looking to replace it with the one i have on atm. So if i buy an electric boot release kit say from ebay i would be able to use it.

Also i have central locking and a toad alarm, would i just hve to disable the central locking on the boot as it has no lock on the new one, and re locate the toad alarms device onto the new boot ?
