 picked car up from garage finally got new sealing ring at the spring joint between manifold and rest of system and car still sounding crap, whole exhaust rasps v loud and v embarrasing. Have looked under car and cant see anything else it could be no obvious holes or anything, any ideas...???
Used to sound lovely until a couple of weeks ago...

what exhaust u got?
can u see any signs of leaking gas anywhere? who fitted it?

full scorpion jobbie, i dunno who fitted was on it when i bought it along with some ghey alloys (which are still on it!) But yeah, cant see any obvious leaks anyway...
My thought was that while it had been chewing the exhaust rings (shitty old springs) that part of one might have gone down pipe to the cat???

mine is raspy at the moment and i can see it leaking hot gas around the joint to the cat, needs refitting with firegum.
not sure what u mean, by springs chewing the exhaust rings?

lol way i was going over hills and stuff the joint was kinda forcing it out of place as was a bit loose then biting at it n stuff... I'll have a proper look later jus dont know what looking for would be easier if exhaust gas wasnt see through... lol

i might have got damaged if its been hit or bent, might be split open or out of place and blowing, any noticable power loss or loud sounds?

tap the boxes and if it sounds hollow the box is knackered,that causes them too rasp.

Nar power still the same as always been which is bizarre, jus dont drive it nw due to raspiness... It's quite a 'watery' rasping sound too

Rah jus been to garage cant find any leaks at all, say it most likely the backbox age which would explain the watery sound i guess...
Does that mean jus replacing the backbox only? or may the middle box be affected aswell?
