I lowered my car about 4 months ago (Corsa B 1997 1.6 16v Sport) (apex 60mm springs with apex gas shocks all round), no major probs first month of it being lowered put a front strut brace on in the 2nd month started handling alot better in dry started getting problems when going into corners and roundabouts (very tail happy, especially in the wet ) took the strut brace off still getting the same problems.
Shocks seem fine, wishbones, tiebars, tyre pressures and tyre tred and tracking. Ive not got a clue wot could be wrong, maybe too hard on the rear but there not adjustable shocks. any help would be magic!

sounds like ur load bias valve needs abjusted. because u have lowered ur car 60mm the valve thinks theres a load in the bak of the car so it automaticly adjusts the brakes making ur back end swing oot. solution get sum1 to adjust the valve

already done that, made up plates etc and extended the spring so there was more travel. So brakes are fine but still getting dodgy handling when letting off even at slow speeds.

they are budget tyres like cheap cheap but plenty tred on the standard 14's. Im buying new wheels end of the week 16" speedlines but not expecting handling to improve much.

If they are budget tyres the compound they are made from might not grip that well.
Is it not maybe that you have got so used to the good handling at first you just dont notice it anymore?

I'd put it down to cheap tyres and greasy roads.

Apex have got to be the worst shocks/springs i have ever experienced on a corsa. A mate had them and the ride was just terrible, handling wasnt great either. Ive got koni red adjustables and there harsh but there very good in the dry. Bit too stiff for the wet though
