if it was cold and you pushed it to 6000 revs?

I did that in the stilo, and then i heard, beep beep beep, and it said, "engine fault - do not drive" on the screen

To a certain point - you still have to pay for it if you brake a hire car!!

I was in a rush to get to macdonalds for a crunchie mcflurry, so i thought id push it a bit dont worry. i got my mcflurry, then phoned the breakdown people and said, "my car says not to drive it"

Don't modern cars say why they displayed engine fault errors? Would 6k revs come under warranties?

True but cold start ragging doesn't break it as such, just decreases engine life.

Gf's mum's Z3 does that, you mince around and the service lights tak eages to come on (i.e when she drives it) Then when her dad drives it it comes back with half the lights on, and he only went to get the paper
