a while back a member of staff at revs magazine posted this:

http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=200884

i did a deal with them, they sent the cheque, (came with a revs compliment slip and buisness card so i had every reason to trust they were genuine)

put the cheque in the bank, and posted the lights.

didnt hear anything for a week, until i found that the cheque had bounced, and a text message from them saying they dont need them anymore and are going to send them back!

this meant i am out of pocket for the postage. was a bit pissed off, but i wiould only lose about £10.

now they wont take any calls from me to ask when theyre being sent back

what can i do?

anyone on here know any of the revs staff?

spoke to a mate( hes a lawyer) and apparently this can be classed as "obtaining goods by deception" i.e THEFT!

Emap are the publishers.

You need to know whether you sold them to the person or the business. Revs is no longer in print so if your deal was with the business then you may be out of pocket.

Still a mean trick though, and I'm sure the publishers would be disappointed to learn about it, so this may be your next line of enquiry.

I doubt anything was done intentionally.

Most likely the staff member you sold the lights to has just lost his job and really isn't too concerned with getting a new set of lights for the car.

Because that is where the car was? If they're building a project car they wouldn't do it at their offices...

Just speak to reception at Emap Automotive. The address isn't on that link Ian gave, it's over on the Lynchwood business park.

Website doesn't mean a thing. Revs as a magazine has been closed, but there should be a months issue still to come out.

Magazines like that are run by one of the largest publishing houses in the UK and they don't get that big by ploughing money into publications that aren't selling.
