but this is an option, think i will go and view this one

has 74,000miles which isn't bad for age, and priced at £1k

for that money, (which is about £12k less than an S3 with about 50,000miles), its a no lose really

and then i can cruise around with Ditch and swap tips

Drive it - you will come out with a massive grin on your face.

A real hardcore drive with no electronic crap backing off for you.

If you stack it you will do it in style! lmao

Pah, just make sure your balls are made of steel and you will be alrite!

Ive done 8k miles in mine since I got it about four months ago, and I have enjoyed every single one!! As teddy says, drive it and enjoy it. No mincy electronic crap, just a nice raw drive

The bodywork should be clean for that price Jim, try and get to the sills from the inside for a better look at them, there HAS to be some rust on it somewhere, and the more you find the cheaper you can blag it for

Inner arches, behind rear bumper and around the window seals are a good bet to find some rot-worm!

Get it bought!!!!

For a grand, even if you put it backwards into a ditch (Hehe, is that where you got your name Ditch?) which you probably will, it doesnt matter!

Id love a mint white one, lowered, black rims, stripped out, caged on throttle bodies!!! Mmmmmm!

Bought it on 95k and the engine itself has not missed a beat.

Its had its probs like any car though, like the altenator belt snapping (my fault, should of changed it!) and the other day the radiator decided to explode... without reason?? But its all minor stuff mate... altenator belt was a couple of pounds and the rad cost me £30 to get it fixed.

The best part is doing all the work yourself mate, imagine if something broke on the Audi, you cant even reach the Altenator belt for the number of plastic covers on the engine... let alone replace it

One thing I will say about the MK2 16v is the back end likes to loose grip and pop out, its very predictable and easy to correct, but if your not expecting it then can be an arse!

My mummy and daddy think the GTE is a bad idea

"its old, not very refined and may let me down and isn't as safe as a new car" is what they said
