I know ice and electris but someone might know that wont read in there!
Right ive got something permanently draining my battery or 0.28amps, a small portion is the alarm but only a very small % of this the rest is coming from another un known source but cant find what
Check all the fuses and been through all that and none of them!
We have found which wire its draining through, its the biggest black wire that goes to + of battery, this feeds the fuse box and the ignition and dont know what else, anyone know!
An auto electrician is gonna rape me to find it, just wondering on the off chance someone has had the same thing or has any ideas what it could be!
Its the last thing i need right now as ive just got the car back from having handles smoothed so a flat battery will leave me up shit creek

Only thing that runs direct from battery is the amps and ive taken the fuse out, plus had all the fuses out the fuse box and so its nothing thats running of the fuses which everything is!

mfd is on constantly, just not lit up
runs off a perm live to help store the information in the display (time, date)
cd player will also have a perm live running constantly to keep setting and time stored in it

no but it will be pulling a current off the battery tho
it will be going thru the fuse and into the battery

but by pulling the fuse out it would stop this and so when i pull the fuse out and test again the multi metre should go down!
And ive checked all the fuses so it shouldnt be them!

SURELY YOU HAVE A FUCKED BATTERY
Black wire that you say has a constant current, that will be a earth wire, cut it and see what stops working!! make sure you have a soldering iron and some solder to connect it together again though lol!

Battery is fine drop tested it!
And i dont think the black wire would be an earth considering its running to the positive of the battery!
its deffo something on this black wire as when its disconnected the amps drops to 0 but when you put it back on it goes back up to 0.28 amps!
Could be the ECU i spose, no real way of testing this though is there?
Would it show up on a vaux diagnostic

Marv, well my son you are the man in the know, it was teh MFD
I stripped the dash out and battery and followed this wire then lost it so i decided to put each electric bit on one by one and test each time and it was when i got to the MFD i struck luck!
I did want to test my other corsa to see if it was running normal or if it was running high but the negative battery terminal nearly snapped off on it, not having any luck with batteries

easiest way to find a wire is a resistance test
