I have 100s of downloaded dvds and clips etc,

i want to be able to watch these in windows media player rather than opening divx all the time,

most of them open but without sound,

Keep in mind though, that installing too many codecs will result in Media Player being 'confused' and not able to play anything!

it might have reset your default player to DivX???

If this isn't the case then you don't have the correct codecs for medi player?

you need the ac3 codec. have a search on google. should sort the sound out.

to make media player open the files, go to the options in media player. navigate to file types and select all of the video ones (and sound ones if you want media player to play them to)

sorted
