Hi Guys,
I t hought I would pop in to pass comment on a few things.
quote: nice flat corneringquote:
944s and 968s do tend to oll a little as do most older performance cars, but dont confuse body roll or stiffness with the amount of grip you can generate. It's also worth noting that I am running road legal slicks.
quote: not keen on those at all, whats the performance stats for them?quote:
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, dont get involved in the performance stats quoted there since I only ever use 3rd 4th and 5th gear on tracks.
One of the appeals for me is the car is 15 years old and still a match for most Jap cars, I could spend more making it go faster, but I'd rather spend the money driving the thing!

Depends how you define cheap.
A good Turbo will cost 10k, a good 968 cs will cost 12-15k

Yeah I'd take a 22b or a P1, Evo, Skyline GTR etc etc rather than the famous poor man's Porsche

Would this be the same poor mans Porche that cost 42k back in 1990 and was more expensive than a 911....

...to add....you can take what car you like - but this car has one use, and that to be used at the ring, and "for me" it's better than the Jap cars you refer to.

U can get a 968 alot cheaper than that can't you? And if I were buying one for the track it wouldn't be a 'good' one anyway

Yeah but surely you would want the Club Sport model for which you pay a premium.

If I only had to have 1 car to do every thing I would go for a E46 M3.
I tend to find most jap stuff a little unstylish, but I guess I am a bit older than you guys and have different requirements from a car.

Yeah, a nice M3 roundaround would be nice!!!
The P1 only really gets used at weekends, my daily runaround is an Escort 1.4 "Cabaret"
