I think 70kg is to much, thats as much as what a Aprilia RS50 weighs and thats a hell of a lot of weight.

It's abotu 65kgs, and thats not including that a F20 is abotu 10-15kgs heavier than a F15 box too. It's lots.

So the engine weighs 65kg more and the F20 another 10-15kg.
This concerns me.

think he meaning the engine is 65kg + 10-15Kg for the f20 box.
But this stil dont tell us just how much more the C20xe+F20 setup weighs than the C16Xe+F16/F18 config

V6s are F25 are they not? F28 is six speed for the turbo.

Ya das ist gut.
The only person I know that had a F28 on a C20XE was Pete Dennis, although everytime he changed gear it crunched.
This was a few years ago now, when there were no conversion kits and I think his was a butchered attempt.

F13/15/17 all small block gearboxes.
F16/18/20 bigblock 5 spd boxes
F28 6spd getrag box on turbos
F23 on V6's
F25 I think is the 5spd on the new turbo engine?
Anyways yeah about 80kgs extra kgs for a red top and box. and that's infront of the fornt wheels to kinda unwanted imo

80KG is a hell of a weight, I can understand now why the engine in all the cars it comes out of has a subframe.

Yep partly why the handling *myths* exist, you can't defy physics.
Also according to SBD you can get the block on a small block abotu 5kgs lighter.
Which I will be having a stab at over the summer when I'm bored.
I'm doing a practice block first, so provided that doens't go tits up I'll sell on after.
So you cna strech the gap out a fair amout.
Also worth saying that it's likey once you start going TB's etc.. the gap gets bigger cause the small block XE inlets are massive and heavier than the XE one, the exhaust manifolds are smaller, takes less oil in sump, and so on.

I wanna weigh my engine while its out, might put it on the bathroom scales, first weigh myself and then weigh me holding it.

This bloody topic is so dull. The wieght difference may be XX KG's. But from owning an x14xe for 3 years and now an LET for 6months there is VERY LITTLE difference in handling.
If anything it has improved the feel of the steering, there is no horrible side effects, it just feels different.
This is what every owner of an XE/LET owner has said. Please take note.

Bingo hit the nail on the head mine handles fine just as well as my mates 1.4 16v and we have the smae suspension set up too. Although it is a tad more front heavier its not as bad as people make out. I mean how often do you actually take your car out on the track to notice this?
stop jumping on the badwagon the exra weight at the front is no more than another passenger....
