Surely pay as you surf is the opposite, where you pay by having to dial a premium rate number?
You'll need to use a pre pay service to do it i'd thought. Something like AOL anytime that you pay monthly. I know when we had it it never showed up on our phonebill.

Not sure about that. The pay monthly ones are normally tied to one line now i thought. Back in the day it used to be bt usernames and passwords i got for free internet. Stopped when they cottoned onto it though.

yeah D'oh my bad
you can have a pre-pay connection but you have to dial from specific lines like BT freaco as you need to auth your username + password and Caller ID.
and if she dials from any line she wont authenticate
Easynet do a free phone 0800 number account but not cheap.

aol dial a free phone number with the pay monthly one so u can use any line
