And they have turned out decentish? Got some with surface scratches, could do with a spray, any info?

He did some for a Golf, look really nice but I can't find a pic of them.... so this will do

yea i did these, just got them back on the car with new tires but not good pics yet, not come out badly, first time at spraying 2pac pearl colour so was pretty happy with them!

i dont have pics of the golf now, because i lost all my pics

When i first did them, a matt finish.


and when i re-did them shiney\


and i polished the rim 2

its easy,

get alloy, sand down so its nice n smooth, unles there new alloys and still have the coating then you wont have a prob,


spray grey undercoat from halfrauds over the alloy,

spray colour,

spray colour again when 1st layer is dry

spray laquer

leave to dry,

i suggest you make the tire up like i did on one of the above pics.

You want anymore to do lol Can you fill scratches and chunks out of an alloy then!?

what undercoat you use? jus the grey primer?

why did they come out matt first? different technique?

u use 1500 to sand it? wet?

yes use 1500 or 1200 grit. just mak sure tehre smooth

they came out matt because i usd matt paint

could probably use chemical metal to fill and scratches as long as they aren't too deep

i was going to filler the few scratches up that i have, wouldn't expect them to need anything else.

does anyone know how much it costs to just get a set of alloys refurbed? I havent ever had the need to find out, but the wheels on my golf are a bit tatty and I wouldn't mind making them look new again :s
