Over rated.

I had a drive in my mates Astra GSi and sure it was nice and quick, was nice to have more power driving about towns so you could pull out more safely. But really, they aren't as fast as everyone makes out.... Honestly One thing that is quite impressive is you get a little boost of power when there is some kind of timing change in the engine at about 4000.

Think I need a turbo

No one ever said they're that fast... they're just very usable and shock a few people.

But I have to say my car is certainly quicker than any Astra GSi's I've come across...

my nova passed an astra gsi with ease on a track, xe with a f16 box tho so might make the difference compared to the f20? I am planning on getting throttle bodies tho as its just not quite quick enough

nova is MUCH lighter and hence quicker, and the F16 box DEFINATELY makes a difference.

The power at 4000rpm that would be down to the 16V an 8V has more low down grunt

dont really think the C20XE corsas are underpowered at all its a fookin 2.0l in a shell that weights as much as a can of beer
and if you tune up the XE lump (iceman ) then you get some LET killing performance..... so not totally true there Edwardo

i feel you have been in my car too much
