since the engine swap i have no reverse lights i think it may be a duff sensor. anyway mot is coming next week will it pass without reverse light?

If there is a reverse light there, i.e your car has a clear lens at the back for a reverse light, then it has to be in working order.
Just tape over where the reverse light would be and you will pass because you "have no reverse lights".
