.......suggests that the Vauxhall Corsa GSi 16v is not as "fast" as the Citroen Saxo VTS or the Peugeot 106GTi................
I have since found this information to be incorrect.
(even though i only have seats and a dash )
Bulltin Over.

Both - lol
The Corsa is more than a match.
Anyone who owns a GSi and has been "chewed" by a VTS or GTi needs to learn how to drive
Off the line - Corsa edged it (just)
Rolling start - with it all the way admidedly wasnt going past him but he wasnt getting away either.
People are so quick to dismiss the GSi as a fair competitor in the hot hatch market - this appears to not be the case as far as im concerned.......
But i did get a little bit above my station and picked on an STI - now he did totally chew me

i know this is going to end up into a big argument as usual but theres no way a gsi can beat a vts. unless the driver of the saxo is crap. my VTR was stripped out and i could jst about keep up with 1.6 corsas, no way could they beat VTS'

Only messing - end of the day its a personal experience and there is an 11bhp diffence between the cars.
On the road that is nothing.

right...
My GSi is stripped out...
I'll try get it on the weighbridge tonight to get weights...
but like teddy, I'm pretty much an even match now against VTS / GTI's, if not slightly pulling away from them...

from when i had the 1.6 sport engine i found the VTS had the edge on me.
saxo weights less and has more power....
think we need to end this once and for all.
someone get a total standard VTS and a Total standard Gsi to PVS and do 3 runs up the 1/4
(and yes i know its a vauxhall show but you can run other cars)
a total standard Corsa GSi Vs total Standard Saxo VTS = Corsa looses

Yet again for some reason corsa owners cant do a like for like comparison!
Standard saxo VTS with all the interior vs corsa GSi with all the interior not stripped out.

GSi = 960kg standard
If ive lost say 60kg for arguements sake - that works out on a totally standard engine as 119bhp per tonne. The Saxo - 106 will still have an advantage at around 130bhp per tonne....
But 11bhp difference on the road between to cars of exactly the same displacement normally asperated.
Sorry but nothing would be in it - as i found yesterday.

the argument here isnt about a standard gsi tho, cos we all know who will win there. we need a standard VTS and a stripped GSi.

Thing is with a stripped interior - the weight is around the same of the two cars - THAT IS THE POINT.

Teddy, i know how well your car goes people are often fooled by 0-60 times but forget the corsa needs an extra gear change than the gti, mine dont struggle to beat them even with simple mods i.e. exhaust and filter on the vts, however if the vts was stripped out and had the same money put into it that i put into my car then it would beat me. in standard form the gsi has to have a good driver and the gti/vts needs a poor driver. same as in standard form the gti/vts will piss on a corsa gsi in standard form.
