Only if you raise the rev limiter on your engine, it doesn't do anything on a standard engine really.

It's an oil breather filter. Stops oil from spashing up into the inlet manifold when you are running high revs and going round a race track e.t.c...

A crankcase oil breather.
It's not a bad idea to vent the breather away from the air intake as it can contaminate the air/fuel mixture, but for the hassle involved and the smell it gives off, don't bother unless you have to.

i quite like the smell!!
You get people asking if you have a petrol leak tho, then you have to point out that, that is the smell of oil.... Muppets
