how much to convert from a 1.2 you reckon?

what else would be needed apart from the engine and upgraded brakes?

Well if you go from a 1.2 8v to 1.4 8v for example, you only need change engine, maybe ECU...

you could probably buy a half decent 1.4 for less than the price of the conversion.

I could buy a 1.6 8v from a nova GSi for 100 quid... that'd use my existing mounts, shafts, and exhaust. So 100 pound for over 50 bhp more than what I have now.

Where can you buy a 100bhp corsa in good nick for less than 100 quid?

1.6 8v would be most worthwhile. 1.4 would still be better though obviously. Corsa 1.4 will be newer engine, probably injection/ECU - Nova 1.4s more likely to be carbs.

I know the C16SE in a nova is basically the SRi Corsa engine, but with bigger capacity. For cheap upgrade, that's what I'd go for.

Got the hassle of wirng then though, as the SE's are MPi, and the SN/NZ (I think there that anyway) both single point... Can get 1.6 8v Astras that are SPi tho .
