Why would it be doing this? It happens at traffic lights/junctions etc! It even revs when it isnt in gear and the handbrake is on! Normally it ticks over at around 1000rpm but its going up to around 3000rpm?

Why would it be doing this?

cheers

my gsi used to do this, i first thought it was IACV which i cleaned but no difference, they i changed the HT leads which made a difference for a while, but then it came back, eventually i think it was down to a split fuel tank causing the fuel system to depressurise.

Could be any number of things, inluding them above

The strange thing is, it only does it on my way home from work! Never on my way to work in the morning!

I got a feeling this could be expensive!

I dont have an induction kit!

Id say 75% likely to be the ICV, VERY common on corsas.

can let in too much air/hot air causing the IACV to over compensate
