I have just been pulled and fined for havin front window tints but the copper didn't have a gun to prove they were illegal he just guessed does any one know if he can do this

Yea because it is illegal to have the front tinted now, only allowed the back tinted

i was told that u can have 30% tint in the front side windows and 100% in the back. if u have recepts of when the tinting was done check to see when the law of not having anything in the front and show them that u got the tints done befor this law was braught into action

Most cars come with a tint anyway. My friends old J reg polo even has a tint, and its the lowest model you can buy. You cant normally see it, but on his left window its been peeled away in the middle (almost scraped off)

Maybe thats why they dont allow tints on the front now?

i got pulled for the same offence £30 fine. bollocks he cant just guess without the proof of the light testing box.

the laws been in place since before christmas, think it was june iirc
or was it 1st jan

anyway no tints at all on windows forward of b pillar, for god sake

i got done last week. they told me if the number on the machine was less than 70, it was illeagal. came up as 18. i just got told to remove them though, no fine.

i noticed them come all the way round the round-about and come up behind me, so i put both windows down. still pulled me though and told me to put them up.
