Anyone know off and know where i can get some kind of model kit form Car engine.

reason being my little lad is 6 (nearly 7) and hes really into cars, loves taking stuff to bits, loves helping me out fixing my car and other peoples.
we have the summer holidays coming up and want to do some things with him which we can do together.
i am going to teach him to weld (he can already spot/tack weld) and make stuff out of steel (as he really want to make a robot for robot wars )
we are both also going to learn about remote control powered items aswell (as i know fuk all about that )
BUT
i would really like to teach him the workings of a engine, and build one from nothing expaining everything as we go. As when i am taken full size engines apart to rebuild in the kitchen hes always asking whats that do dad etc

i have found a Model V8 you can turn over with a handle but i think it already come built and sealed, i would really want one which comes a box of bits and we build from nothing.......
i have full size car engines at home be there to big from him to learn on.....

can anyone point me in the right direction

cheeky cunt

thats the one i have seen but i think it comes already built, i can explain how it works but i wanted him to get his hand dirty and build one for himself.
as theres nothing better then rebuilding a engine from and load of bits and turning it over for the first time....

what might be worth doing is getting a scoter engine nad cutting one side of the casing off. tidy it all up, paint te edges etc

then he'll be able to see all the workings etc as it turned over

i know hes not that old BUT i can explain how a engine works and prob show him with a engine i have lay about, BUT i wanting him to build the engine himself thats the main reason off all this.
knowing what each part is and where it go's etc

Beardy - download the film clip of the 'T' and the Cobra in action mate.
It's only short and their not at full song, but

Bloody hell, think i'm gonna have to go into the baby selling business.
I want one of them and I want it now.

Have you seen the price of a full car ready to run?
Bargain - not

Get in touch with Brad, and get a mini moto, strip and rebuild that. You can teach him all about fitting aftermarket parts too.

they are the most awsome thing i have seen in a while
the little supercharger aswell is mint
will download the videos now

they are so so good

as for the mini moto i would rather build and get a go kart, as if he likes go karting (which i know he will as he kills his quad everywhere) we can fit a bigger engine and get into racing......

i think beardy is wanting to do this in order to train his son up. This will then allow him to sit on his ass drinking beer while saying "go fix that fucking C20XE son, im busy"

Defo mate, love spending time with him.
at the moment all we really have is motocross (i have a RM125 and he has a LT80 Quad), and in the summer hol's we can only play on the old coal mine so many times

we was going to built a robot for Robotwars but we both need to learn alot more about electronics before that, so this is the next best thing for him to move onto.
