Anyone know if £3500 is a bit pricey for a 1998 Astra Gsi 2.0 16v 3dr - 60,000 miles in Red? I'm after one but not sure what to expect to pay for one. I want a minter and this is completely standard and looks really nice...

its currently in at Northampton Motorsport sorting out the advanced ignition. After the carbs were fitted there was NO advanced ignition...this is why i only got a 15.0 sec at the pod.....when it comes out gonna stick it up for sale....

1994 was the last year the XE was fitted to an Astra GSI, i have one of the last. The 96 onwards had the X20XEV
As that is one of the last GSI's it is a good price.

It doesn't have body coloured bump strips, door handles and the interior (seats) are bloody awful! THought they all had leather seats?

Yes thats a GSI
The later ones were'nt really GSI's, they were glorified Sports. They had Irmscher skirts and wheels and the rub strips etc but they werent body coloured. They also had aircon but no traction control.
Leather was an expensive option and i have yet to see one with it fitted as standard.

1991-1994 was the proper GSI's The 96onwards although limited edition lacked the sportyness of the early ones in my opinion.
Only problem now is that its relatively hard to find a really good one, most have duff arches although you can get em for less than a grand if you dont mind spending a few hundred getting it up to scratch.
