Ok, when my car is fully warmed up (takes about 10mins).
The temp needle well start rising to 100 and above at times. So my fan kicks in if i am sat in traffic, traffic lights or just parked up.
i would see the needle going back down and the fan stops, but straight after it would start going back up if the car is not moving (getting cold air)
How often does your Fan kick in???
Cheers peeps

Will cut in at about 96C and cool to about 92C. Car are running hotter and hotter these days, it helps to lower emissions. Only worry if you go into the red. Pressurised cooling systems are designed to increase the boiling point. Water will boil higher than 100c if pressurised you see.
