Honda NSR is a good bike
The apprilia is the one to have though... can find some for your price range but they may be in need of a top end rebuild...

You wont get an Aprilla RS for 1000, and u probably wont get an NSR, Aprilla are the ones to have really, hence they're dear, and the cheap ones aren't worth it as they're on their last legs
You might aswell get a cheap 125 scooter if your getting a bandit soon after anyway

As with carly you will get an RS for a grand but it will be an earlier model and I'd check it's service history and general upkeep. It won't be that good to be honest. £1500 may get you a nice example. If it's a first bike I'd also be inclined to get either a Yamaha TZR or maybe the NSR.

Aprilla rs is the bike to get, had 2 just sold 1 for 1600 that was fully standard, 1 ave got now is tuned and will do 125. I would just buy a cheap scooter and wait for the bandit

You won't get a RS125 for 1k
If I was going to buy another Aprilia I would buy a immaculate AF125, classic and very rare.

yeah m8. The RS125 and Mito are pretty neck and neck for top speed wise. The 7 speed gearbox makes fuck all difference. As for the top speed of 120 STFU, that will be indicated. You'd be lucky to get 105 out of both of them.

Allan a man after my own heart.
Everyone raves about 125's doing 120mph but they don't, 100mph tops.
Spot on mate about them being neck and neck, Cagivas 7 speed box is also made of jelly.

I should know I've owned both and had an RS250. Even with full arrow exhaust and airbox mod the RS250 would only be 125-130 tops and about 140 indicated.

I try to get my dad to get a RS250 to sit in the garage and collect dust, they are awesome. I would have it in the older shape though.

my mate in his RST clocked him at 120 on a dual carriage way!
he swapped the mito for £500 and 2x aprillia af1's and one of them (the one he kept) was tuned with a racing sprocket, carb, and exhaust but the mito was still faster. on the tuned AF125 he could keep with me up to 70mph but that only whent about 100-110mph
