Just installed an active sub, hooked everything up and when it turns on, the sub makes a weird rumbling, crackling noise when you turn up the level and crossover freq. This happens even with no volume from the hu
Does anyone know what this could be?

No passenger side I've run power and remote, drivers side is the RCA on its own so I don't think it's interference

I'm pretty sure the earth is OK? I think I scratched off enough paint. What does the earth actually do and what problems can it cause if it's not right?
The RCA is plugged into the Low/Subwoofer output from the hu, and the 2 input terminals on the amp - that's right aint it?

Yeah sounds right to me. The earth completes the electrical circuit basically so if its not connected properly then it may be the problem. Try moving the earth from where every it is onto the screw which hiolds the seat belt connector in behind the back seats.

The RCA has red and black connections, the amp and hu have red and white - does the black go to the white? That's how I've got it at the moment

Yea both are the same, red to red, black to white. This is really annoying me now, I'm gonna have to take it somewhere for them to have a look at
