air flow meter on the c16xe is on the driverside of the engine just before the air box. on the other its underneath the throttle body i belive. the c16xe says vauxhall on spark plug cover, other says ecotec. aprt from that, dunno visually.
oh, i think the x16xe has a kind of recirculation thing coming off the exhaust manifold, the c16xe doesnt.
on the head itself between ports 2-3 there is a code which can tell the difference apparantly. i just sold my c16xe to a rally bloke and it had to end in 762 the code

dunno couple hundred quid for all gaskets and bearings and belts and tensioners. depends if you putting new pistons in it or not. just the 2 gasket sets if thats all you doing shouldnt be much more than 70 quid from a motor factors. if you take head off, use new head bolts though

most motor factors should sell gasket sets and decent head bolts for these engines
apparently the cambelt was done not so long ago but may aswell do that again

yeah, you can get all bits from motor factors. id do the cam belt as well, even if someone says its been done, if you do it then you know its alright.

Thats X16XE, it has the secondary airpump on the exhaust manifold and the metal inlet manifold.

hehe i remember seeing that for sale on ebay! was gonna put in a bid but its too far away from me
But yeah as people have said, definatly an X16XE due to the metal inlet manifold and the EGR valve coming outta the exhaust manifold
