need to do an oil change and i cant decide whether to use:

GTX high mileage or GTX magnatec?

there both 15W-40 and the cars done 90,000+

i reckon the high mileage stuff has gasket saver stuff in it and the magnatec stuff sticks to the engine

what do you use?

10w-40 is the grade i am using at the moment. Think that is what vauxhall recommends.

i just use the gtx magnatec it sounds good enough for me

The GTX "high mileage" stuff is the same as the old GTX 15w-40, with the blue bit on the the label (remember? ) they just re-branded it to get more sales, and since its generally used for higher mileage cars.

Since I started using GTX magnatec, care seems to burn oil like petrol!!
Had to top up twice in the last 4 days

thats more to do with piston rings/ stem seals than the type of oil.

some 15-40w quantum stuff.. about £8 for 5 litres, bloke where i get it from recommends it depsite having castrol on sale (more expensive)

I use 15-40w Castrol Magnatec High Milage on the XE... Doesn't tap too bad

Millers oils - not sure on the grade though just get sent 25litre drums at a time along with anything else i need like gearbox, brake fluid, anti-freeze etc sponsorship is great

vaux 10w-40 on my XE but 1st 5 mins in morning tappets are LOUD
