Rite, previous to the other thread ... my car wont start cos the immobliser thats built into the loom is cuttin my engine out because i havent got the correct key/pick-up .....

Ive rung like 10 ppl today and no1 can come out and programme the ECU ..

But ive been thinkin there must be a way otherwise the GSi corsa would NEVER have been stolen .. and they do .. so there must be a way round it ...

Dont say it here if u know PLEASE PM i need my new engine

take it to vauxhall get new keys,pick up ring and immobiliser box

need to change door locks etc too,should be a kit and should cost about £300

Yea id take it to vauxhall but i aint got vim number the car was passed on and the only key was lost .. so no spare key ....

There must be a way round it cos otherwise it would mean the GSi has NEVER been stolen .. in theory

Before the fault occurred did you drop the key.

no i bought the engine/loom/ecu ... it came with no key i didnt actually know the key had a chip in it ...

The things ive fitted ...

1.2 8v Complete engine - removed
Replaced with a
1.6 16v GSi engine

Before i had the engine .. yes it worked fine .. i need to know if there is away around the Immobliser in the loom ???

You will need the transponder number for the ECU. If you know the details of the car it came out off you should be able to get it,

best bet would be to get a ecu chip and immob ring from scrappy

or why not buy an aftermarket ecu?

would that not by pass the immobilliser?

yea like i say tho i dont know the vim number so i cant get the ECU number ...

Rung every scrap yard in sheffield and no1 has a corsa gsi/tigra/astra <--- cos al same engine

There has to be a away to bypass it tho :S

If your car had an immobiliser with the original engine it will be a simple job to reprogram. if you can get the transponder number.

The ecu has to match the pick up and the chip in the key ..

U can get the ecu's re-programmed but for some reason mine cant be ..

By reprograming you are matching them all up but the only way you can reprogram is if you can supply the transponder security number.

the long number thats printed on the back on the ecu ?

Cos this means a gsi can never be stolen ..

surely if u change ecu,transponder etc and use key it will be fine

or would that not work either

but for £50 u cant go wrong for trying
