as most of you know my car got impounded in january and was inspected. a few days ago i finally got my court summons as they found a lot of stuff wrong with the car, they described it as a death trap and a danger to other road users. they are doing me for...

2 bald tyres, wheel bolt missing, loose seat bolts, loose seat belt bolts, gear stick cut down to 10cm, no gear knob, no interior door handles, no doorcards, loose front bumper, no side repeater lense and bulb, no horn, loose headlighs and a few other things.

lucklily they said the car was too low so they couldnt check underneath it. i already have 6 points so i am guessing i will be getting another 6 which will give me probably a 12month ban and maybe a big ish fine.

what do others reckon? and i have pleaded guilty by post, will i have to attend court or not?

In that case Adam, wont they contact him beforehand? How would he know in advance of the initial hearing that he would be getting a ban otherwise?

Yes, you plead guilty by post, if they give you just a few points and no ban then they write back wih their verdict and you get your points without going to court, if they decide to ban him or give him the points to take him upto a ban they cant do it throught the post, he will have to go to court. i think.
