At 18 you shouldn't be driving an Astra GSi.
I always wanted one and was going to get my Dad to insure it and I would drive it, but the insurance company wanted a letter stating that my Dad was the main driver.
They are not stupid they will know that you were the main driver if you crash and the policy is void. Not worth the risk.
Get some No Claims and some experience behind you. Then think about the fast cars like everyone else.

If you were a named driver on the policy then that would probably be alright, but they might still ask for a letter confirming that your Dad is the main driver.
I was on about insuring it any driver and just driving it.
