Hi guys,
Ive heard that the corsa B master cylinder isnt big enough to cope with V6 brake upgrade so pedal feels spongy!
Is this true?
As any1 experianced this prob?

Some people complain of this, and some of those people claim it's sorted by usng braided hoses.

not really...
i would suggest using a 16v tigra master cylinder if the spongyness annoys you that much...

i got 308mm v6 brakes on mine, was well better when i fitted the braided hoses - dont mind the feel though tbh.

would have thought the tigra cylinder is the same as the one found on sports, which i find to be poo, even with 2.0 brakes and braided lines pedal feel is very poor.
All comes down to how much displacement the m/cylinder has, and how much is needed to move the pistons in the caliper, with 4 pots I would have thought more displacement required to move the extra pistons

i went from 1.6 brakes to v6 with braided hoses and i find them fine??

All corsa b and tigra a master cylinders are the same apart for LHD vehicles and if ABS is fitted. I have looked into upgrading mine and there aint no upgrade from another vaux.

But the pistons are smaller so in theory it should be better, but tbh i didnt notice a difference. All corsas have crap pedal feel with the original MC.

i had v6 brakes on my corsa... 1.2 8v master cylinder.. the brake pedal wasent great but they stoped the car fine...
the same brakes are on my misus's tigra and i have to say there is no spongy pedal whatsoever... infact her brakes are amongst the best i have ever eperienced on any car....
maybe yer master cylinder might be damaged?

i doubt the early 8v master cylinders are the same as the later 16v ones....

Nope iv changed the master cylinder just in case!! think it is just corsa pedal feel is rubbish and fitting bigger calipers can only make it worse. I didnt quite notice how bad it was until i started driving my other car more.

a lot wores with abs as well ive been told.
2.0 16v calipers with good discs and pads are more than capable anyway.

i got 2litre spec brakes on my GSi, 16v GM calipers and 256mm disc
the brake power and pedal feel is brilliant, however the pedal does get lower after couple months after each bleeding, i guess i need some braided lines

yes they do stop well but pedal feel will be poor (compared to a modern car) its the science of it... it has to be.

Agree with Fear, not the best pedal feel, but u just have to work them harder.

my brakes feel rubbish, Corsa Gsi 16v pre-ecotec im going to fit 2 litre spec brakes and i just hope this stops better, i really have to put my foot to the floor to slow the car down
amazing as in my astra without ABS with the same upgrade done it stops very quickly and has good feeling
btw will i loose the ABS by changing the calipers and disc's

iv got the v6 set-up and discīs on the rear + braided hoses alround and i think that the brakes are pritty good like 1000000x better than standard 1īs
each to there own i suppose.

i have the same set up and i cant fault them, the rear discs take some fiddeling with the get them just right due to a stripped out rear

I've got V6 fronts, standard rear drums and braided hoses allround, pedal is soft no matter I do but they still stop well.

anybody tried bleeding the brakes with the engine running?, i find this always helps.
