IIRC etc - me bein daft

Most of the bass CD's have loads of tones at the end of them. You don't choose the lowest because that isn't the loudest. You just skip through them all until you find one that matches the resonance of the car (shit will rattle).

Then just crank it big bwoy

(PS: Im no expert in SPL )

No no no - the lower the lower.

Somewhere in the mid is the loudest - you'll have to experiment. If you get a chance to try a few times on the SPL meter just experiment.

Buy a proper bass cd though

dude it depends on what frequency your car/system is set up to.. dont just throw on a normal tune, that would be fookin stupid

and dont just put on 33hz because its too low for a good performance..

a better frequency would be somewhere around 50hz.. and dont just play it.. "burp" it

otherwise your batteries will die out on you.. do it for about 5-10secs each Burp..

so you really need a test CD with some different frequencies to try out.. they might have some CDs there for people to use..

Thats the kind of thing but there should also be test tones on there - like 20-25 different frequencies which run for about 15 secs each.

So one 'track' would be a tone of, say, 40Hz and the next would be 45Hz etc

You just need one continuous tone not one that sweeps through many and then work out which one hits the right freq for the car / install as Stevos confirmed

The best way to find out mate, it get an RTA(Real Time Analyser) and play a frequency sweep from say, 100Hz down to 30Hz. Look at the results and you'll clearly see what your cars resonant frequency is as that'll give you the highest SPL reading.

Once you know that, use that frequency to test the system for maximum SPL. As Steve said, burp it, no need to do it for as long as 5-10 seconds, more like 1-2 at the very most, any more than that and you'll just be sapping power from the battery which will cause lower readings in the immediate future.

saying that, you wont find out the cars resonant frequency if you're using ported boxes, you'll probably find the boxing port tuned frequency iirc.

Best way to get the MAXIMUM SPL is play a sweep through a sealed 10" sub to find the cars resonant frequency. Then, using those results, tune the port on your box to play at that frequency.

I think (its been a while!)

'Apparently' but it varies slightly from one example to the next i believe. And at the volumes youd have to play it at, the woman's more likely to be in pain than pleasure! Best way is get em to lean against the car when your playing it i reckon.

the women would need serious ear protection and the car would have to be a world champ SPL car, cos it needs to be mega loud.....
