My corsa's underfueling for some reason, I've got a feeling the ECU is knackered or reading something wrong somewhere, thinking maybe chipping it would solve the problem, can I pick up a cheap replacement chip anywhere, nothing too fancy, doesnt even have to be remappable, just something that favours performance over economy a bit more.

or can anyone suggest how i can DIY one of those AIT resistor jobbies just to test, in the hope it'll chuck a bit more fuel in?

fix the problem before trying to add to it
My do you think its underfueling? Had it on a RR?
It's more likely overfueling.
Air leak, dirty filter, faulty afm etc
Have you checked the ECU errors codes?
Ebay resistors are best avoided

If you have a knackered sensor like the AFM then adding a resistor won't do jack.
Your have to repair the problem. Try cleaning the AFM with carb cleaner or WD40.

there isnt an AFM, done by vacuum I believe, which is obviously doing jack with an induction cone on there, tried putting the vacuum hose into some trunking coming up from the air filter.
I believe its underfueling because the spark plugs signify its running lean, they are sparkly clean.
it's a 1.2 8v if that helps
tried reading ECU codes, just gives code 12 (initializing diagnostics) constantly.

check your MAP sensor, its on the bulkhead near the header tank has a 3 pin plug and a piece of vacuum hose connected to the inlet, how does the car run in general ?

will have a look in a min, what am I looking for?
err, lumpy, misfires on just over idle revs, kangaroo's when I let go of the accelerator quickly, 0-60 in about 35 seconds and struggles like hell on hills, unless I'm already doing 60 from just coming down a hill (lol)

only place I can see a vacuum hose going too is a rectangular coppery looking thing situated just around the throttle body, cant see a 3 pin plug though

that red vacuum pipe needs to be blokced off properly by the way, shove a screw down the end, disconnect the battery overnight so ECU is reset, and see what its like in the morning

yeah, youved told me this before mate, made no difference what so ever
well nothing noticeable anyway.
Saying that, I never got the funny running associated with disconnecting the battery,

plugs would be white if lean.... ('ish)
when were they last replaced?
when was the filter last cleaned?

yeah, the plugs are white, no idea when they were replaced, but they look ok to me
ive never properly cleaned the induction cone apart from bang it against my hand to loosen some of the dust
is it worth chucking a bit of cloth over the inlet pipe (with filter off) and going for a drive to see if it helps the problem?

ojc would suggest you stick a sock over the inlet

whatever, just to see if its the cone thats causing not enough air, but surely not enough air would overfuel it? I'll have a go

not enough air wont do anything, if the AMS is working properly, it will supply the correct amount of fuel to air

well, how do I check if its working properly? Will it work properly with an induction kit?
