... I got a bit stuck.

How exactly am i supposed to undo the bolt connectin the steering rack and the hub? Cos its a balljoint whenever i undo the bolt the nut bit just rotates inside the balljoint so im not getting anywhere

Also, when i came to take the brake disc off the screw was a little bollocked so i start playing with it trying to loosen it. Then suddenly the brake disc just comes off, the screw still tightened. I think it took part of the hub with it i got quite confused by that.

I would get pics, but its raining outside so ill get them up tomo unless u lot can help without seeing them.

Cheers boys

OK heres some pics. Firstly heres the one last nut i need to undo connected to the balljoint steering rack

And heres how the break disc came of

you can see splines in there and stuff. Surely it could have been attached better and not just pulled off

put some sort of clamp on the ball joint to stop it rotating. I use a G clamp.

Looks like you have pulled off the hub as well with the brake disk.

I just used a crowbar and pushed it against the gearbox and levered it onto the hub arm to keep it tight and it came free.

I use an adjustable spanner and clamp the ball joint in the rubber area and undo the nut with a ring spanner

well it should be an interference fit. Try sliding your new bearing over it. If it slides over with little forces its fuckd and wqill just spin inside the bearing!

yup just unscrew it. try and measure how far the nut is up the thread to get the tracking roughly right and when its all back together take it to get the tracking checked.
