hi i will be so so greatfull for some help here ...
i have the car mentioned in the topic. its got four speakers standard. i have a couple of questions.
what size speakers are actual in the doors now?
If i upgrade to 17 cm speakers in the doors will it make much diffrance, my radio has 45 watt output : ( .
same for the back if i upgrade will it make diffrance. and what size are they now
if i purchase 17 cm with the mount will the speakers fit so it all looks standard e.g i dont have to mod the door.
last question : what speakers are the best for the front door e.g exact model would help.
Thanks in advance.. great forum by the way

17cm fit with the adapter plates you can get from car shops i.e. halfords or motorworld, depending on budget you would be best just getting componants and an amp and disconecting the rear speakers

Because they would be distorted by the time you hear them as your front speakers would be much louder if you got components.
Ive just came back inside from changing the standard door speakers to my components, which are still run off the headunit, and there is zero difference.
Wait until you can afford to amplify them. Best thing i can recommend to you are the infinity components in halfords that are £99.99, they fit perfect

but the infinity compontents want make a load of diffrence unamped is it ?
ALso if i chuck some 6x9's in the back shelf will this add more bass and louder sounds ? are will it just be not much diffrence again?

Nothing will make a difference unless its amplified.

Well its the only way your going to get what you want mate.
Im sitting here sulking cos ive just spent all afternoon fitting speakers to a top spec 4x53w clarion unit and they are no louder than the old ones. I need to get my amp in there, its sat on top of the cabinet but i canny be arsed to fit it!

you can get 'active' sub boxes, which have the amp and the sub in the same box, but you would need a headunit with pre-outs to be able to install one. Alternativly, you can get these adaptors that convert speaker outputs to rca connectors, however, i don't think the sound quality is very good with these, but you would be able to retain your standard head unit.
