1800 ONO

Unfortunately to a change in job circumstances I now need a car which I can use everyday and cover a fair few miles so the corsa has to go. I'm gutted - its a real sleeper that looks pretty much like a standard Corsa LS but with 180bhp ready to suprise a few people

Ideally i'd like to sell but I'd consider and Part-Ex's or Swap offers. I'm particularly after an Astra MK4.

I've tried to include everything i can about the car.....

Spec

- 1996 Corsa B (LS Model)
- Flame Red
- C20XE Engine from Cav Gsi 1990
- Yamaha R1 Bike Carbs with custom made inlet manifold
- 181bhp @ 6576rpm (with proof from rolling road)
- 163 lb/ft @ 5226rpm (with proof from rolling road)
- 1/4 Mile 14.4 secs @ 97mph (with proof from Santa Pod printout)
- Pipercross Dome Filter over Carbs
- Fuel Pressure Regulator providing approx 3psi fuel pressure to bike carbs
- Mechanical Distributor
- ECU-less Ignition and Management
- Manual Choke
- F20 Gearbox
- Bottom end rebuilt last year which included new oil pump, new pistons+rings, rehone on bore, new bearings, new timing belt + rollers, head gasket set, water pump, oil filter and spark plugs fitted.
- Alpha Sequential Gear Change Shift Light Box mounted on dash. Final Red light shift point set @ 6700rpm
- Uprated Heavy Duty driveshafts with lifetime guarantee from Justcorsas
- Cav. Gsi Front Calipers
- Brand new (put on last week) EBC Drilled and Grooved Discs and EBC Greenstuff Pads
- Jetex full stainless steel 2.5" exhaust fitted twin square outlet, mated to downpipe with a flexi coupler. no cat fitted.
- Oil cooler removed and cool running thermostat fitted.

- 60,000 Miles on Engine
- Approx. 50,000 on chassis
- Registered as a 2.0 16v on Log Book

- Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser with Remote Central Locking

- FK Highsport Coilovers Front and Rear
- Colour coded front and rear arches
- Colour coded door mirrors
- Colour coded rear door lock
- Bump Strips removed
- Clear side repeaters and orange bulbs fitted
- Brand new 15" Tyres fitted last week
- Full Sport Interior Fitted

- Tigra/Corsa Sport Dials
- Black Front door pockets replaced grey originals
- Black Rear parcel shelf replaced grey original
- Brand New JVC Head-Unit (CD Slot in Flip Down Front with MP3/WMA Facility)
- Upgraded Kenwood Front Door speakers with Active Crossovers mounted behind door cards.

- Car comes with 11 months MOT and Tax runs out in December...

Bad Points

I'm going to list every bad point I can think of. I'd rather be honest up front than waste both our time...

- Some small scratches and Dings on the paintwork (theres a scuff on front bumper where previous owner scratched it on a wall).
- Some small rust patches under door sills
- Rev Counter doesn't currently work due to no ECU. However the sequential shift box is more than enough and if i kept the car I wouldn't change....
- A small oil leak at the bottom of the engine. I think its either the sump or diff pan gasket....
- The Engine Management light fascia is damaged (due to original people that installed carbs pissed about with it. You can see this in the pics. I'd either replace clocks or paint over it if i was keeping...)

Good Points

- Car always starts first time.
- It pulls really hard all the way through the rev range and is especially good towards the top of the range (bike carbs doing their job!). It is noticeably different to a regular C20XE
- On full chat the Carbs and Engine sound fantastic
- Handling is pretty good on the coilovers even for a corsa. Bit of understeer if you try to power round tight corners but that is to be expected from such a heavy engine in a small car....
- Interior is in really good clean condition.
- Engine ticks over really nice and carbs are well setup.

I've personally spent nearly £2000 since buying the car in March. I have all receipts for everything I've bought/had done since i've owned it. There is a fair bit of paperwork from the previous owner too (such as Engineers report for engine install etc etc).

I'm really gutted I've got to get rid for a more sensible car as this is so much fun to drive and everyone i've taken out in it can't believe how quick it is. I even saw ChrisC holding on quite hard to the door handle the other day when i took him out for a spin

I'm looking for £1800 ONO as priced is reduced - will swap/part-ex for a smaller engine car. W.H.Y?
