I know a few people off here have refurbed and resprayed their wheels themselves.

Can anyone give me a guide on how to do it, eg. what to use to get rid of kurbing, what type of paint etc.

just pasic filler mate, eazy rub down stuff (think its p40) make sure you sand it all smooth frist, to give it somethin to key to, then use the filler to build back up your wheels, then you can basically get any like gloss rattle can (if thats the way your doin it) personally i think they look shoot rattle canned, prob better to tek tem somewhere. but if you do it correctly then it could look ok!

gona be doing them with a compressor so should be a good finish. I was thinking about filler, but would it not crack? do you need to primer the wheels before spraying?

dont use ordinary filler on your wheels. keep sanding them down until kurbing marks have gone.

yer it all helps, if u prime it, its just more layers to hide imperfections. the primer wont brack aslong as you make sure that you key it in etc. just be thorough, theres no point cuttin corners. make sure that when you paint it, u wet the floor and walls of where you do it, this just gets rid of dust etc that could settle in the paint. just makes gettin the finishing touch easier

if it needs it...u can high build (primer) the wheels first...then rub the primer down with a 500grit...then go over them all with summit like a 1500 wet or dry paper...utill smooth like glass

ordinary filler is fine, thats what we used on mine, n what me mate uses at his bodyshop when he does rims

how do you get a smooth finish all over the wheel? surly there is a paint seam

better taking them off mate.its a pain in the arse trying to mask tyre.nothing sticks to it if its ever had tyre gel on it.

just get the bead popped like so

make sure u use etchin primer. i used metal filler wen i did my old allesios on me old nova. came out lookin mint! just make sure u spray the laqure on wen the paint is still tacky!

they look like glass because when i have painted them i leave them a day and rub them down with wet sand paper and they look like this



then i polish them with rubbing compound then auto glym super resin
