thinking a newer engine is gonna feel nicer to drive, better power delivery etc , may not be as much bhp, but surely a decent amount is acheivable with the newer lump
150-170 with the x20xe, anyone know if thats hard to achieve

Yeah you can buy the conversion kit just like you can for the C20XE. But rebuild the C20 and its going to be just as reliable as the X20.

Yep pretty sure calibra or astra mk3 was the last with the C20XE engines, mate has a P-reg calibra with a X20XE

i saw that on here as well, not keen on the styling, £3k isn't much money, but i couldn't be arsed to get it stripped/repainted
a 1.6 sport could be the best option

The C20XE's are pretty raw and simple... WOuld imagine the more modern engin eto be a little more sociable. Also the sump gaskets wont leak

x20xev would be the one to go for, its a smooth and nice engine but its only 130bhp same as most x20's mind u a de-cat, four branch and an induction kit would make all the difference, the conversion kit is available from the same place as the c20xe kit, it'd be different
oh an if u want a good one, get it out of an omega or frontera, they have a better tune in the ecu
