I should soon be just running a RE SX12 sub in a ported box, from a 1000wrms amp, and some diamond hex600s comps at 125wrms
Will this be 'loud' enough, to consider getting the Db measured, or is it only worth doing that if your car is packing something really decent?
If so, where abouts do you get it done...? I'd feel a bit of a knob jockey turning up to a professional place just with one SX12 sub
Thanks
Martin

get it tested chap u should at least reach 138-141 dB i reckon.... but it depends on many things....
Sound deading
postion of the subs
how there wired
how much power there getting
what the box is tuned to
ported/sealed
type of port round/square etc
heat in car
voltage
there is so many variables, in my opinion get it tested the u no if want your running so when you do any other modifcations to the what ive just quoted you no when that your hard work has paid off...... dont just look at sound deading!
If your around my way i have access to a termlab mike etc which i can test your system and give u some advice what things u could change...... unfort i have to charge for the test cause the equipments expensive and pays for the wear n tear on it.......
my re sx15 runs at 142dB there abouts and it was obvious when i started to play with the box and voltage the dB leverl go slowly up
pm me for more details

for spl the box should be tuned to suit your car......i reckon my corsa is around 49-52 Hz......
you will need some sound deading but id concetrate on getting the correct volatge and get the headunit and amp scoped so that u dont introduce any clipping ...... id u have clipping theres a change u may damage your equipment

hmm..
so this sound deadening business...
do you cover EVERTHING?
for example, on the inside of the car door, would you cover, ALL the metal you can see? Even the actual outside panel of the door where its really hard to get in?
Is there much difference between,
doing just around the mid on the front door, and also directly behind it on the door.
and covering the ENTIRE door with the stuff?
I know NOTHING about this topic (as usual) as i havent even considered dynamet etc before the weekend...

go FROM there? i was kind of thinking that would be it!
Erm.. Is it worth it? for what im running, is it worth spending £150 on dynomatt...?
its extremely hard to deaden the boot of a C, especially when the instal is half in. And it wont exactly come out easily...

it depends really. Some people put the stuff on the roof, rear panels, floor, etc.

i would like to hear someones car with the stuff in i think.
covering my car in the stuff, i dont think it would move. unfortunatly, i DONT have a phase 6.5 turbo.
ill buy a few rolls i think. just cover the front doors, and by the rear. Cant go crazy with roof, floor and boot. Time n money dont permit.

It is worth it if you dont skimp on it. Only do it in certain areas and your probably wasting your time
