Hi there pep's.
Im finking on the lines of an X16XE rether than a 2L corsa.
I no alot more about the 16XE
What throttle body kits are available.
I was considdering the 185 kit from SBD. Is this kit ok? Is there any other kits out there with a good quality build and good gains.
Any of your expeianced views would be great.
Also how do you get stickers and when show season starts again what do you do about displaying cars

ive got tb's on my x16xe.
these ones:
they are parralel 40mm bodies. much better than jenvey or sbd, quality is amazing. they are billet rather than cast alloy and come with the anodised blue fuel rail and bits as standard.

They look the nuts. What did you get in your kit. Do they fit straight onto the car without chopping the bulkhead or owt. Do they do another colour than anodised blue as blue wouldn't suit
My manager said when they purchased SBD one's the trumpet's were too long and fouling the bulk head.
Also can you fit little filters to these as dont wanna suck in crap

the trumpets that come with the SBD kit do fit, just. but there isnt enough room for a decent filter due to the brake master cylinder

plenty of room, well sort of
without filters:
with filters:
you can buy them as a kit from novatech in slough 01753 696 216. kit includes omex ecu, loom, base map and bodies/manifold. you will also need injectors, alternator bracket and fuel pressure regulator and fuel line. (extras are all easy to do and cheap)

from £1600 for a c16xe or x14/16xe.
fuel consumption is good 36mpg, thats with a mixture of motorway, town and country roads.
thats about 85 miles to £10.
if you are having a bit of fun tho, that drops to 40 miles to £10

wouldn't like to comment on that siberia, im generally a bit poo on the 1/4 mile... id like to be getting times in the 14's..... we shall see tho.
rob, yes many many many people say the tapers are better due to the shape of them and the way they are individually tunable

as far as power gains go they are very similar, but the novatech kit are so much better in build quality and easier to set up. they all do the same job at the end of the day, but jenveys are cast alloy whereas novatechs are billet. theres other little differences as well that i prefered with the novatech ones, the stack height is changeable and the quality of fittings, linkages, fuel rail, and tps adaptor was loads better.
heres an example:
jenvey tb:

novatech:
i have played with both types and i was for more impressed with these tbh. a lot of mig users agree as well. plus they are a LOT cheaper!

they are two different types of throttle body there that you are comparing, if you compare the parallels with jenvey parallels then you shall see they are both as easy as each other to set up, as for the stack height, surely thats the same as changing the trumpet length am i wrong?

but broster, its the build quality that im comparing mainly.
the jenveys feel/ look like very cheap stuff when you put the two side by side.
the lads at noble motorsport agreed, they were very impressed with them.
both do the same job at the end of the day

I'm not too keen on the look of the manifold angle on the novatech kit, its got extra bends (restrictions) and this will reduce clearance. Doesn't look as good either!
