i wanted to know how accurate my speedo is in my corsa so borrowed 2 gps systems one was garmen quest and other a tomtom dunno what models but im aware that gps is more accurate thatn ur speedo at high speed. well results was

my speedo at 40mph = quest = 38mph and tomtom = 37mph
60mph = quest = 58mph and tomtom = 59mph
100 mph = quest = 97mph and tomtom = 97mph

so overall my speedo is an average of 2mph slower even at 100 mph my final test was a top speed run which got interrupted by lorries but got 128 on speedo and gps read 124mph so i now no my car pulls a genuine speed as my speedo is accurate

fantastic bits of kit

Even in the slim chance that they did come across this post, typing something on a message board is hardly concrete evidence.

I got a piece of hosepipe, rigged it up to my throttle body and blew really hard into it on the way home from work, so i was supercharging my engine, and hit 186mph. I know this was true because I passed a saxo doing 86mph (I looked at his speedo) and knew I was going 100mph faster.

I'm a bad boy.

Message board evidence doesn't stand up on its own, but can be used to corroborate other evidence, ie. if you're seen speeding then come on here and post, its admissible.

If no one has witnessed speeding then I wouldn't really see it going anywhere, but if they're looking for a particular car/person to pin something on, things may be different.

For testing, you only really need to try it at 70ish, as in fifth, not much is going to change anywhere over that.
