In my door i have brown + yellow, and yellow wires goin to my tweeters
however there are no brown + yellow, yellow wires coming out of the back of my HU...
i tried tracing the wires back to my HU, but couldnt find what ones were what. i havent got a HU atm and no speakers at all so i cant do trial and error.
does anyone know what wires coming out of the HU are the tweeter wires for a corsa C?
Thanks

You should find a passive crossover of some sort in the doors.

like stubs says, there will be two wires from the headunit going to each door speaker then paired off through a crossover to each tweeter.

there is a small R C crossover network built into the back of the tweeter

right...
my tweeter has 4 wires in it.
this is because TWO wires go to the tweeters cross over bit on the back of the tweeter, and the other 2 wires take the rest of the signal to the door speaker...
that right.....?
BASICALLY, ive just put some diamond hex 600 comps in my front doors.
Got the 12gauge wire through to the mids in the door, no probs
however, to run the tweeters, i was going to use existing wire... I disconnected it from the head unit end, and connected it to the cross over.
NOW i dont know which of the 4 wires to connect to my cross over...
does it matter..?

Mount your crossovers in the doors.

No. i dont fancy exposing my £500+ speaker set to rain, and thieving knobs. i live near Luton. Gues ill just wait til the HU arrives and trial and error it.

Eh? Why would mounting them in the doors be exposing them to thieves? If they're behind the door panels, they won't be easy to pinch! And surely, the mids will be in the doors?? If you mount the crossoverson the inner side of the door membrane, they should be fine.

There should be 2 wires coming from the hu.
These go into the crossover.
From there 2 go to the speaker and 2 go to the tweeter.

I think the moral of this story is if you going to buy expensive equipment either know what your doing or pay someone to do it for you. Connecting your tweeters direct to an amplified source will blow them in a flash.

Just run a cable up from your new crossovers to the tweeter.
It will take about 2 mins.
Theres nothing in the road.

When did i say i'd hook up my new tweeters to test for a signal?
And even if i did,
when did i say i'd test for a signal straight from the HU when the wire goes through my own cross over....?
