I have a DSC-P10, having trouble with blurred shots. I end up taking loads and hoping one comes out alright!

I try to keep my hand as steady as possible! But I still end up with lots of blurred images.

Have you got it on the 'scene' setting? I've got one and in the scene setting it has a much slower shutter speed and its a bitch to keep from blurring.

Fine if its on normal mode though

You have one of the models with the ccd defect.
If you can't take any non-blurred shot you may well have a defective one.
Only taken them 2 or 3 years to admit its actually a problem.

"leading to cameras that capture images with either no picture at all, or with extreme distortion and purple color casts."

This isn't blur?

Can we have some examples before blaming the hardware?

He still has a model that has the ccd defect though.
Even if his particular one doesn't have it.

Naa from them you dont' have the defect yet mate.
Although I was only saying it was a possibility :thumbs.
Have you tried putting it on timer and then sitting it down on a stable surface?

Let me guess, those pictures are taken late afternoon in winter - very dark - even if not to the eye - the camera needs to open the shutter for longer to let more light in to get a pic that looks light enough - result, blur.

Solutions -

Take pics earlier in the day

Artificially light the scene with a flash (don't do this, pictures look rubbish)

Plan the picture better and park near other sources of light - not always possible.

SUPPORT THE CAMERA!! <---- do this

Yeh, went to "Battle the light" in my thread. took them about 5pm, and it gets dark at around 6. So I was pushing it a bit to be fair.

Need to look for a tripod for the camera!
