will a normal key cutting place that does house keys be able to do car keys do you think?

not if your cr has an imobilier chip it would be just a key to open doors and not start the car.

There are some specialists that can do it for you though

Is it the mr2 in the picture ?

What plate is it on ? H Looked in your garage.

If its for that car you can just get the key cut. there will be no immboliser in the key.

Flat keys like yours still may have a chip in it, and will need to be prgrammed

went to timpsons with my old FTO keys and my ex's punto key to have spares down for both.

they couldn't do the punto one as it had imobiliser chip in. they have a machine that scans keys and lets you know if they can cut you a copy or if you need to go to the dealer

I have no idea It came with the plate on and im going to sell it at some point when i get around to it.

most toyota dealers are useless, especially if you need parts for an import

I have ended up getting the number plate of a random UK car, so that I can just give them that plate every time I need parts. If I give them my reg plate they just tell me it takes "X weeks" to get parts in as its an import

If it's for the Mister Too in your avatar, then that's a big YES if I remember correctly.

I think they use conventional keys (much better idea) rather than stupid modern thing with transponder that goes wrong, leaves you stranded and then costs a fortune to get sorted.

Only difference is you will probably get an all meatal key rather than the nice Toyota one with the thick black plastic bit at the top.

You could always buy a genuine Toyota blank (might take a little while to get) and get that cut from your original at a locksmiths instead.
