DId all Gsi's have immobilisers, ?
Basically my 1.2 used to have a factory fitted immob aswell as the alarm one, now its using the x16xe ecu obviously, which i dont tihnk had an immob cause i have no transponder chips with it... am i right in thinking that my car runs off the ECU therefore it shouldnt be trying to immobilise the engine ?
The car is trying to turn over i think but it cant, could be due to some wires still needing wireing up i would imagine but im just wandering ..

No transponder chips doesn't mean no immobiliser, it probably means you weren't given them.
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups.

so...does it crank? (turn over and try to start) or does it not turn at all.....because it should be cranking.

it will crank but wont fire. you will need the chip from the key and the transponder pick-up from round the ignition barrell to match the ecu.
no other way around it.
immobiliser cuts the injectors from firing

need to fit the transponder chip to the key, transponder ring to the ignition barrel and it should fire up, i had this trouble with mine when i put brosters old ecu on, so we stole bits from his car and it worked first time

you need to fit the chip, transponder and ecu all from the same car.
if you have done this and its not firing up is the ecu light flashing when you try and crank it? if it is then its an immobiliser fault. (thats if you have wired it in of course)
if it is wired up and it isnt flashing then you are missing one of the following:
air
spark
fuel
not likely to be air as you can control that with the throttle.
check if you have a spark by pulling a lead off the plug whilst cranking the engine. you will hear it 'clicking' if its sparking.
check for fuel by undoing the fuel line off the inlet manifold whilst cranking it over. if there is no fuel then its likely to be a fuel pump fault.

Sorry let me make it a bit clearer at the moment i have only tried it with the ECU i have which has no chips with it etc...
Which is why it wont start cause of the immob problemo...
I havent tried it with the immob i have with the new ignition barrel, tranponder chip and ECU i shall try that tomorrow and hopefully it will work...

c16xe doesnt have a immob
x16xe does
you will not get it started without the immob chip and ring
well unless you ditch the ecu and fit carbs
