..........ok, my policy was renewed in june (end of, 20th or something) on the corsa, £186 fully comp this, mods for that blah blah
i have 4 years no claims now
rand HIC up, they said they would not insure me on a 318 convertible as its higher then group 40 on their scale of 1 to 50
i am 22 for fucks sake with 4 years NCB and its a 1.8
so do i go elsewhere and pay 700 notes, cancel with HIC and loose 5 months NCB, or do i get something cheaper to insure till may when i turn 23 and they will insure me
bare in mind when i was 21 they said they couldn't insure me till i was 22, so i doubt they will insure me at 23 if last year year is anything to go by
could also put the beemer in my mams name and me as a named driver till may then cancel the policy and put it in my name thru HIC or someone else?
ideas?

Strange!
Had no problems insuring my 318 even though it wasnt a convertable. New owner is only 19 and he had no problems either!

Its an existing policy so while you may get a quote elsewhere at a reasonable price, your existing insurer won't touch it.
You either need a cheap car for 7 months or lose the 5 mo ncb which you have earnt.
