My old laptop is starting to give up and is getting fairly old and shitty looking now anyway, so thinking of getting a new one for xmas. I have no choice but go for a laptop really as travel alot between 2/3 places and need to beable to take my work to each place with me.
- Will be to do some graphics work, little gaming, and general work / day to day use.
- Needs to be running Windows media centre so I can attach an external HD with all my music + movies.
- Not too bothered about size as wont be carried around too much
- Will be getting linked to a screen at home so not too bothered about screen size
- Have upto £2k but can go above for something extra special!!
So, options on what I can go for.....

£2k for a computer which is getting lashed around your car boot.
I would be buying a proper desktop for the music and making do with a selection on the move which you can fit on the internal drive in the laptop. If you really must have access to all your music open up your home computer to outgoing connections.

Laptop is for working on the go, not for the music/moves/whatever. I stay at 3 different places during the week sometimes and need to beable to work at each location and cant be arsed with the hassle of transferring stuff from a desktop to a laptop each time, otherwise would prefer just to get both!
